Rainbow FCU has been proudly serving the communities of Androscoggin County, Oxford County, and New Gloucester since 1956. For over 60 years, our commitment to provide impeccable service and products to our members has remained the same. We’ve grown to be one of Maine’s largest credit unions, but we’ve always maintained the same small-town values shared by our members — community, trust, and hard work.
Years ago, it was said of our state that “As Maine goes, so goes the nation.” This tenacity is represented in our state’s motto – Dirigo, or “I lead” – and we are committed to carrying on this important legacy.
That’s why we underwent the important exercise of rebranding and renaming as Dirigo Federal Credit Union. For us, this is both a step forward into the future of our credit union as well as an opportunity to re-affirm a steadfast commitment to our founding values. By updating our look (including branches), name, and website, we look forward to providing a new level of excellence to all our members and our communities.
We’re excited about this new chapter in our history, and look forward to serving you in the future.
Why are we rebranding?
We wanted our name and logo to grow with us, both as a credit union and a community. Dirigo means “I lead,” and we feel that it perfectly captures our mission and the spirit of our membership.
What does this mean for you?
Not to worry – while we make this transition, we will honor all Rainbow-branded items, like debit cards, checks, and loan payments.
Do you need to do anything?
Nope! Just relax and enjoy our transformation, from our new logo to our renovated branch locations.
